![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This study investigates the path of Iran becoming a capitalist economy and the reasons of the opposition of traditionalists and aristocrats with Reza Shah’s policies. This study uses the qualitative and descriptive-analytic method and the historical sociology approach to investigate the social and economic barriers of rational authority in first Pahlavi Era. In Weber’s view, for the creation of modern state there are two prerequisites and therefore two obstacles: the financial situation which can be seen in a capitalist economy and the opposition of traditionalists and aristocrats. The most serious move in the path of creating a modern state in Iran is known to belong to the first Pahlavi era. ![]()
